More birds that is. Spring is the time that thousands of people order baby chicks. I am debating if I should make an order or not.
For those of you who are not familiar with how getting baby chicks work…..your order them from a hatchery and they are delivered via US mail. Just before a chick breaks out of the egg, the “gorge” themselves on the last of the food in the egg. That last session of overeating allows baby chicks to go up to 72 hours without food after they hatch. During this time, they will travel via the postal service to places all over the US. Isn’t that cool?
I don’t need any new birds, but there is something about having a flock of mixed breeds that calls for more. There is always another breed that I have wanted to try, so the debate is on to order or not to order,
